Enugu is polio free – WHO

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared Enugu State ‎polio-free.Tthis was made known by the country representative, Dr. Wondimagegnehu Alemu, he commended Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for nurturing and sustaining the health programmes in the state‎. Alemu made the assertion at the Enugu State zonal immunization campaign tour organized recently by the wife of the governor, Mrs. Monica Ugwuanyi, in collaboration with the organization in Nsukka, Udi and Nkwo Nike respectively.

Reps urges FG on ending slavery of Nigerians in Libya

The House of Representatives on Wednesday charged the federal government to end the slavery, torture and killing of Nigerians by liaising with the Libyan government to find a solution to the menace of migration and modern day slavery. FG declares Friday December 1, 2017 public holiday

Don’t blame states adopting ranches, anti-grazing laws – Miyetti Allah

Maina not yet reinstated because AGF sidelined me – HoS

Head of Service of the Federation (HoS), Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita, on Thursday, said that she was not carried along in the reinstatement of former chairman of the Presidential Pension Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina. Oyo-Ita told members of the House of Representatives adhoc committee  investigating the disappearance, return and reinstatement of Maina that all memos sent by the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, were to the Federal Civil Service Commission, but that she was only copied.

PDP national chair : Wike not lobbying for Secondus, says party

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State has dismissed the allegation in some quarters, that Governor Nyesom Wike  has been lobbying for Prince Uche Secondus, to emerge as national chairman of the party. State Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Samuel Nwanosike,  debunked the allegation, on Thursday, while addressing journalists in Port Harcourt, ahead of the December 9,  national convention of PDP.
